She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Willard and Viola Speer Willard; her husband Wilford "Bill" Cheek; her granddaughter Derie Reece; and her siblings, John Willard, James Willard, Nellie Vestal, Mary Snow and Jessie Matthews.

She is survived by : her sons, Larry Cheek, Billy Cheek (Michelle) and Bobby Cheek (Deana); and her grandchildren, Adam Cheek, Amanda Edwards (Rocky), Joshua Cheek, Richard Cheek (Chesseth), Karen Gray (Ryan), Janna Cheek and Aiden Cheek. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and several cousins and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville (5108 US-601, Yadkinville, NC 27055). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Swaims Baptist Church (3919 Swaims Church Rd, Hamptonville, NC 27020).
