He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Joseph Sylvia, II and Irene Dube Sylvia; and his daughters, Nicolette Callahan and Cynthia Sylvia. He is survived by: his wife Annette Adams Sylvia; his children, Todd Sylvia (Christy) of Florida, Mark Sylvia of Florida, Eric Sylvia of Florida, Lori Sylvia of Florida, Nannette Gibson (Brian) of North Carolina, Nancette Hemming (Scott) of North Carolina, Krystal Holcomb (Christopher) of North Carolina, Misty Dinkins (Phillip) of North Carolina and Candice Ramseur (Aubry) of North Carolina; and his brother Gerald Sylvia (Laurette) of Clemmons. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
