He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonza Oakley and Lucille Rudd Oakley; his wife Evelyn Oakley; his daughters, Teresa Daniels and Lisa Lysan Oakley; and his siblings, Jeanette Tatum, Haywood Oakley (Red) and Kenneth Oakley.
He is survived by: his daughter Renee Scott (Wayne) of Mebane, NC; his grandchildren, Alisha Scott-Holt (Ryan), Phillip Daniels (Tonya), Dustin Scott and Erica LaCoe (Matt); and his siblings, Pat Clayton of Prospect Hill, NC, Lounell Talley (Dan) of Prospect Hill, NC, Tom Oakley (Pat) of Prospect Hill, NC and Danny Oakley (Wanda) of Prospect Hill. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggested that in lieu of flowers that memorial donation be made to the Leasburg Volunteer Fire Department, 5783 NC Hwy 119 North, Leasburg, NC 27291.
