He was predeceased by : his parents, Willie Green Foster and Wilhemina Adelaide Blackwell Foster; his children, Cassandra Denise Foster Johnson, John D. Foster, Jr. and Reuben Foster; and his siblings, Willie Foster, Weldon Foster, Ulysses Foster, Aubrey Foster and Carolyn Foster Fuller.
He is survived by : his wife Eva Brooks Foster; his children, Bernadette Foster of Hampton, VA, Sheronda Verner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Harlan Foster (Lorraine) of Pelham, NC; his sisters, Barbara Redding of Yanceyville, NC and Norma Foster of Yanceyville, NC; and his brother-in-law Lawrence Brooks of California. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
