He is survived by: his children, Bryon Wharton (Felicia), Michael Wharton of Maryland and Beverly Cartledge (Jimmy) of Maryland; his niece Lorri Ann Wharton Massey; and his close friend Robert Tate. He is also survived by greatgrandchildren.
