It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Bumgarner Hurst of Zebulon, North Carolina, born in Brevard, North Carolina, who passed away on December 4, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Pinkney Bumgarner and Gladys Baynard Bumgarner; and her former husband Dr. Benjamin Franklin Hurst, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Dr. B. F. Hurst; her children, Robin Hurst Wells (Michael) of Sevierville, TN, Margaret Knox (Alan) of Zebulon, NC and Benjamin Franklin Hurst (Beth Ann); her grandchildren, Jeremy Knox (Natalie), Miranda Nemitz (Owen) and Luke Hurst; and her siblings, James Bumgarner (Ginny), Harold Bumgarner (Karen) and Joy Bumgarner.
