He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Clark Spivey; his children, Philip Bruce Spivey (Kitty) of Thomasville, GA and Susan Spivey Caldwell (Michael) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Abby Caldwell, Cameron Caldwell, Caroline Spivey and Willow Spivey; and his child Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Zebulon United Methodist Church or The Masonic Home for Children Oxford.
