He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Louise Pearce Champion; his daughter Licia Joan Champion; his son-in-law Curtis Stillwell; and his brothers, Vance "Doc" Champion, Jr., John "Fuzzy" Champion and Charles "Waggy" Champion.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Champion, Christine Collier, Tricia Stillwell of Louisburg and Ernestine Pridgen; his brother Harvey "Wink" Champion (Betty) of Supply; and his grandchildren, Rodney Collier, Chad Collier, Steve Joyner, Jerry Joyner, Bradley Williams, Karen Adkins, Missy Wright and Kimly Pridgen. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, & 3 step great grandchildren.
