He was predeceased by: his parents, Bunny Clifton and Eva Williams Ray; his wife Ruth Vick Ray; his siblings, Clifton, Wade, Pete Ray, Hettie Pearce and Dalma Martin; his great grandchild Ella Cate Dees; and his nephew Williford "Tink" Martin.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Strickland (Phil), Carson Ray and Mike Ray (Amy); and his grandchildren, Trevor, Zachary (Xiaoming), Madeline Ray, Kim Johnson (Glenn), David Strickland (Jodie), Laura Dees (Aaron), Jason Wilkins and Brandon Ray (Amanda).
