He was predeceased by: his parents, Helmer Blackstead and Dorothy Blackstead (Wolhowe); his sister Connie; and his brother-in-law John Boler. He is survived by: his wife Myrna; his daughter Stacy Blackstead of Bismarck; his brother Howard; his sisters-in-law, Kathy of Bismarck and Marlys Rodahl of Minot; and his sibling's children, Alexis Blackstead of Denver, CO, Londa Rodahl of Bismarck, Marcia Haro (Sam) of Williston, Nola Levison (Dave) of Missoula, MT, Caryln Rodahl of Farmington, NM and Terry Rodahl of Minot. He is also survived by five great-nieces, one great-nephew and one great-great-nephew.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Eastgate Funeral Service (2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (502 N 4th St, Bismarck, ND 58501). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (210 62nd Ave NW, Minot, ND 58703).
