He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Annetta Jose (Buchmann); his wife Florence Benz; his children, Laurel and Lorne; his siblings, Art, Elmer, Gilbert, Ida Bauer, Martha Dittus and Delora Forde; and his sons-in-law, Tom Hug and Joe Wisdom.

He is survived by: his children, Larry (Danette), Goldendale, Wash, Layne (Vicki), LeAna Hug and Lynette Hopfauf (Brad). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
