He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores; his daughter Eve; his parents, Frank Barta and Ann Barta; and his sister Eileen Grindberg.
He is survived by: his children, Michele Towle (Mike), Mitchell (Becky), Dean (Jill) and Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Joseph Towle (Mandi), Jessica Smith (Dan), Bismarck, Annie Barta, Elle Barta, Garvin, Max Barta, Sage Barta and David Barta; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Helena Towle, Kendall and Reese Smith; his brothers, Ed Barta of Franklin, CO and Frank Barta; and his pets, Toby and Pancho. He is also survived by his four children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Erv's name to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, or the North Dakota Junior Golf Association.
