He is survived by: his wife Carol; his great grandchildren, Steven Deisz, Jill Deisz, Katie Peltz (Deisz), Brenton Peltz, Alex Edstrom, Yasely Edstrom, Christian Edstrom, Isabel Muraki, Matthew Kramer, Austen Frank, Sarah Frank, Amanda Starbuck (Frank), Mark Starbuck and Adam Frank; and also, Shawn Deisz (Mike), Eric Edstrom (Paula Costa), Elizabeth Muraki (Alan) and Andrea Edstrom Frank (Paul).
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Gene's favorite charities: St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Central Dakota Humane Society.
