He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Franklund and Betty Franklund (Buchholz); his uncles, Rodger Buchholz and Clifford Williams; his aunt Ella Meyer; and his cousins, Doug Meyer and Bryan Williams.

He is survived by: his sisters, Terri Hegel (Bruce) of Rapid City, SD and Diane Enger (Ward); his nephews, Ben Hegel (Nicole) of Rapid City, SD and Chad Hegel; his great-nephews, Kyler, Marcus and Parker; his aunt Mavis Buchholz; and his close friend Shala Sargent. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
