With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Joyner (Bismarck, North Dakota), who passed away on February 7, 2020 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmidt and Angeline Schmidt (Hecker); her former husband Henry Bender; her husband George Joyner; her children, Thomas Bender and Shirley Vogel; her son-in-law Tom Vogel; and her siblings, Eddie, Richard, Bernard Schmidt and Lorraine Carmen.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Eckroth (Gary), Karen O'Brien (Tom), Gary Bender (Patty), Mike Bender (Marlys Lupien) and Tim Bender; her goddaughter Charlene Butler; her grandchildren, Ryan Eckroth, Weston Eckroth, Chelsey Tower, Brandon Bender, Dustin Bender, Brittany Rooney, Zach and Nathan Bender; and her siblings, George Schmidt (Clare), Frank Schmidt (Bonnie), Patrick Schmidt (Brenda), Ben Schmidt (Joell), Delores Jorgenson, Katherine Kuntz and Bernadette Wanner. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
