He was predeceased by: his father Papa; his nephew Rae; and his brother Gene. He is survived by: his spouse Virginia Carol Keator; his daughters, Candie Thompson (Mick), Harvey and Kelli Berger (Larry); his mother-in-law Beatrice Keator; his siblings-in-law, Gaylen Keator (Linda), Mobile Alabama, Ron Keator (Pam), Mel Keator (Gail), Keith Keator (Sherry), Denise Geirke (Mark) of Bismarck and Leona Werre of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Cortney (Jorey), Nathan, Megan, Jordan, Katie and Abigail; his close friends, Sis Wait and Mary Hultberg; and also Mandan. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; nine nieces; seven nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial to the Central Dakota Human Society.
