He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gaab and Elizabeth Gaab (Himmelspach); his wife Kathryn Zentner; his son Julius, Jr.; and his siblings, Frances Weiler, Cecelia Garza, Pauline Gion, Anton, Mike, Leonard, John and Clem Gaab.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Spier (Murel) of Beulah, ND; his grandchildren, Travis Spier (Cari) of Sioux Falls, SD and Valerie Ryberg (Randy) of Menoken, ND; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rachael, Sophie Jo Spier, Christian, Claire, Hanna and Lucas Ryberg; his sisters, Minnie Schulz of Mandan, ND, Agnes Rehling of Richardton and Irene Geck of Glen Ullin, ND; and his sisters-in-law, Pauline Gaab of Richardton, Rachel Gaab of Richardton and Marge Gaab of Park City, MT..
