He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Steckler and Lena Steckler (Siller); his stepfather Nick Dressler; his great grandchild Maximilian; and his stepbrother Russell Dressler.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Hoerner; his children, Leon Steckler (Joan), Brian Steckler (Lisa), Bruce Steckler (Anne), N. St. Paul, Minn, Kirk Steckler (Pepin), Green Bay, Wisc, Shelly Hegerle (Erik) and Jay Steckler (Tamara); his grandchildren, Lucas, Zachary, Samantha, Emma, Madison, Jacob, Joshua, Danielle, Mitchell, Savannah, Kalli, Carson, Kyle, Alyssa, Justin, Bridget and Cierra; his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Felix and Milo; his sisters, Pat Cascaes and Peggy Etzold (Bud); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Staudinger (Don), Kent Dressler (Mona), Deb Dressler and Kelly Dressler (Kim). He is also survived by four step-siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Max's Mission c/o the Diocese of Bismarck; Assumption Abbey, Richardton; or the charity of the donor's choosing.
