He is survived by: his sons, Nathan (Melissa), Scot of Bismarck and David Mickelson (Dani) of Kearney, NE; and his siblings, Dan Mickelson (Kim) of Fargo, ND, Todd Mickelson (Peggy) of Fargo, ND, Tom Mickelson (Becky) of Rochester, MN, Rick Mickelson (Kelly) of Cottage Grove, MN, Deborah Mickelson of Fargo, ND and Veronica Ahern (Rose) of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by four nieces and seven nephews.
