He was predeceased by: his brothers, Terry and Randy Nelson; and his parents-in-law, Iva and Albin Swanson. He is survived by: his wife Alma of Bismarck; his sons, Kevin Nelson (Kris) of Hebron, ND, Bryan Nelson (Rebecca) of Rosemount, MN and Steve Nelson of Moyock, NC; his grandchildren, Abigail Devine (Mathew), Loel Nelson, Ashlee Wendel (David), Dana Nelson, Jordan Nelson (Samantha), Jesse Nelson and Saydi Nelson; his great grandchildren, Gary, Ava, Jones Nelson, Alexia, Beau Devine, Ellis, Sophia Wendel and Parker Nelson; his siblings, Monte of Warrensburg, MO and Debra Levos (Roger) of Marco Island, FL; and his parents-in-law, Sheryl Willits, Marcia Steinwand (Arlie), Arvin Swanson (Pat) and Rodney Swanson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the North Dakota FFA Foundation (909 Basin Ave., Bismarck, ND 58504).
