He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Hillesland (Hovde) and Ed Hillesland; his son Steven Hillesland; his brother Elmer; and his nieces, Kathy Hjelmstad and Debra Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Hillesland; his grandchildren, Sarah Zainhofsky (Blaine) and Eric Hillesland (Alicia); his great grandchildren, Trenton, Aurora Zainhofsky, Brooklynn, Gretchen and Isaac Hillesland; and his sisters, Alice Mae Hjelmstad (Leroy) of Bloomington, MN and Mary Ann Lee (Wayne) of Bloomington, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
