It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronald Schmidt of Bismarck, North Dakota, born in Menoken, North Dakota, who passed away on October 26, 2020, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob and Clem Schmidt, Sr. (Jahner); his sister Gloria Lozensky; and his nephew Michael Schmidt. He is survived by: his former wife Virginia Sam; his wife Cynthia Clairmont; his children, Melissa Moran (Scott), Lincoln, Kristen Schmidt (Tim Kalvoda), Ronald Jr. Schmidt (Kari) and Kyra Peterson (Grant); his grandchildren, Alicia, Michael Moran, Aaron, Travis Schmidt, Shelby Kalvoda, Cole, Caleb and Cuyler Schmidt; and his siblings, Marc (Diane), Jake Mandan (Sue), Nick Mandan (Nicole), Dave Bismarck (Sandy) and Betty Pfeiler (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
While it was the family's wish to celebrate his life with friends and family, due to COVID-19, services will be privately held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
