He was predeceased by : his parents, Hartwick Berg and Christine Helen Berg (Nelson). He is survived by : his sister Helen Christine; his wife Viola "Vi"; his daughters, Candace Berg of Devils Lake, ND, Carmen Buckmeier (James) of Minot, ND, Cimberly Berg-Hooker of Minot, ND and Chantel Berg of Rugby, ND.; his grandson Blake Hooker; his great grandchildren, Braxton and Ryker Buckmeier; his sister Helen Rollman of Granville; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Rivard (Leonard) of Minot, Violet Yineman of Dickinson, Herb Gotter (Dorothy) of Bottineau and Milfred "Butch" Gotter (Barb) of St. Paul, MN; and his grandchildren, Tylor, Landyn Carlson, Jeshua, Casin, Jantz Buckmeier, Haylee Carlson and Taylor Hooker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorials in Harland's memory are preferred to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
