She was predeceased by: her parents, Sofus Thompson and Selma Thompson (Feland); her former husband Herbert Newman; and her husband Ernest Jelleberg. She is survived by: her children, Delwyn Newman (Linda) of Lemmon, S. D., Wanda Thymian (Curt Schall), N. D., Marlin Newman (Barb) and Wendy Peterson (Mark) of Fargo, N. D; her grandchildren, Eric, Ryan Newman, Dina Holleron, Natalie Gregory, Brianna and Amber Peterson; her sisters, Sylvia Christenson (Virgil) of Carson City, NV, Arlys Mathis (Gary) of Gonvick, MN and Twylah Larson of Fargo; her siblings-in-law, Margot Jelleberg, Sadie Jelleberg, Audrey Newman, Donna Thompson and Richard Pederson; and also, Janice A. Larson (Pete) of Rollag, MN., Patricia F. Knudson (James) of Wappingers Falls, NY, Alice Jane Watland (George) of Olympia, WA and Dennis Jelleberg (Cheryl) of Beulah, ND. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson.
In lieu of flowers, Verdine requested that memorials should be given to an organization of the donors choosing.
