We bid farewell to Charlotte F. Vaagen of Carpio, North Dakota, born in Dayton, Washington, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 22, 2024 at the age of 82. Charlotte touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry J. Sutton and Amy L. Sutton (Rayburn); her brother Jay Sutton (Sue); her sister-in-law Phyllis Wright (Rosie Bass); her stepparents, Alfred Furulie and Cecelia Sutton; her husband Earl Vaagen; her daughter Dorene Turner; her daughter-in-law Rose Haaland; her grandson Kip Turner; her great grandchild Ariya House; her siblings, Ronald Wright, Patricia Snyder, Shirley Murphy and Cathy Rach; and her stepsiblings, Jack Bass, Bob Bass and Betty Vaagen.
She is survived by : her former life partner Donald Haaland; her daughters, Donna Turner of Grand Forks, ND, Amanda Thoms-Hoover (Brandon) of Cheyenne, WY and Amy Jo Vaagen of Minot, ND; her grandchildren, Kristen, Eric Waklee, Chanell Jorde, Nathaniel Haaland, Richard, Katearie, Samuel, Kiara Thoms, Sophie, Amelia Vaagen, Orion, Monroe Kruckenberg, Kennedy Charvat, Kevin Vaagen and Carl Vaagen; her great grandchildren, Malachi Jorde, Izabel, Mia Belgarde, Angel, Sativa, Yuki-Onna Thoms, Della and Cain Kruckenberg; and her stepbrothers, Jerry Bass (Robin) and Bill Bass (Betty).
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson - Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A prayer was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Carpio Lutheran Church (200 2nd St W, Carpio, ND 58725).
