He was predeceased by : his parents, Arndt Johnson and Taletta Johnson (Berge); and his siblings, Bjarne, Clifford, Art, Martin, Clarence, Edwin and Borghild.

He is survived by : his sister-in-law Betty Johnson (Cooperstown); his nieces and nephews, Leo Johnson Cooperstown of Cooperstown, Steve Johnson Luverne (Stephanie) of Cooperstown, Ron Johnson Cooperstown (Sonja) of Cooperstown, Jeanne (Dennis) of Cooperstown, Neal Johnson (Julie) of Cooperstown, Nolan Johnson (Connie) of Cooperstown, Jeff Johnson Binford (Jan) of Cooperstown, Jerry Johnson (Karen) of Cooperstown, Kim Dick (Kent) of Cooperstown, Laurie Hazzard (Bruce) of Cooperstown, Bennett Michaelis (Elayne) of Cooperstown and Charlotte Michaelis Minneapolis; and his great-nieces, Shae Lynn Johnson of Cooperstown and Lacey DeHoff (Chip) of Cooperstown.
