He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank L. Dinkel and Helga Dinkel (Sveen); and his siblings, Gordon, Ralph, Stanley, Frank, Dolly Hunter and Joy Hartje.

He is survived by : his wife Carol Ganyo; his son Nathan Dinkel of Crystal, ND; his brother Donald Dinkel (Mary) of Grand Forks, ND; and his friend Steven Turner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
