He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Peterson and Clarice Peterson (Bolstad); his brothers, Harlan Peterson and Laverne Peterson; his brothers-in-law, Kenny Baumann and Ed Rose; and his nephews, Lynn Berg and Curtis Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Olson; his children, Pam Fisher of Grand Forks, ND and David Peterson (Kelley); his grandchildren, Grant Fisher of Grand Forks, ND, Brooke, Ben and Claire Peterson; his sisters, Marilyn Baumann of Mesa, AZ, LaVonne Berg (Odell) of Grafton, ND and Patti Rose of Grafton, ND; and his sister-in-law Verna Peterson of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
