With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darrell J. Dettmann of Fargo, North Dakota, born in New Salem, North Dakota, who passed away on August 27, 2020 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Dettmann and Evalena Dettmann (Toepke); and his brothers, Dale Dettmann and Sheldon Dettmann. He is survived by: his former wife Jeannie Lapthorn; his children, Susanne and Theodore; his wife Linda Mehlhoff (Wahl); his stepchildren, John Mehlhoff (Moorhead) and Melissa Rooney (St Cloud); his grandchildren, Jenna Seifert, Garrett Seifert, Larissa Seifert, Jacob Mehlhoff and Stella Mehlhoff; his siblings, Willis Dettmann (Karon) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Darlene Lapthorn (Fargo); and his sister-in-law Norma Dettmann of St Cloud, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Red River Valley or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
