He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Carol Berend (Marcy); his parents, Louis Berend and Esther Berend (Kratzke); and his sister Marlene Jennings. He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela J Harrington (Arizona), Anita L Rainey (Georgia), Gloria J Rick of Moorhead, MN and Deanna F Berend Ragan of Fargo, ND; and his brother Monte Berend. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
