He was predeceased by: his parents, John Heinsen and Ethel Heinsen (Wetherell); and his wife Beverly. He is survived by: his children, Lyle Heinsen (Becky), Kelvin Heinsen (Laura), Les Heinsen (Sharon) and Kari Timmersman (Brad). He is also survived by six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
