He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Johnson and Dena Johnson; and his brothers, Chester and Delmore. He is survived by: his children, Loni of Duluth, MN, Melba and Blair (Fargo).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
