She was predeceased by: her parents, Gust Veen and Selma Veen (Gedrose); her husband Vernon Short; and her siblings, Rudolph, Guy, Bergetta, Agnes, Norma, Stella, Eleanor and Evelyn.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Katie Clausen (Mike) of Concord, CA, Patrick Short of Concord, CA, Karen Lundberg of Eden Prairie, MN, Mike Lundberg of Fargo, ND, Sabrina Koller of Santa Monica, CA, Daniel Koller of San Marcos, CA, Amanda Koller and Anthony Koller of Vista, CA; her great grandchildren, Carl, Charlotte, Caroline and Carson Clausen; her brother Harland Veen; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Anderson, Lorraine Veen and Marvin Short. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
