He is survived by: his son Wesley; his close friend Chad Lentz; his brother Larry Mehus; his nephew Brandon Hansen; his sister Theresa Towler; his nieces and nephews, Tasha and Tenesha; his foster mother Lorraine Mehus of Valley City, ND; and his siblings, Gary Mehus (Carolyn), LaVae Bannon of Minneapolis, MN, Gayle Mehus Flanders (Mark), Laurelle Mehus and Janine Mehus. He is also survived by 4 nephews, 6 nieces, and numerous great nephews and great nieces.
