He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Hastings (Cronin) and Wilmath Hastings; his wife Mary Joyce Hastings; and his siblings, Mary Lou Bruzzone, Mildred Hutton and Thomas Paul Hastings.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Hastings (Lori) of Milaca, MN, Deborah Tronnes (Galen) of Nashville, TN, Donald Hastings (Denise) of Fargo, ND, MaryAnn Hayward (Terry) of Grand Forks, ND and Joan Karpenko of Grand Forks, ND; and his sister-in-law Willene Hastings of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
