She was predeceased by: her parents, Larry Panek and Mary Anne Panek (Violette). She is survived by: her husband Murray Hennessy; and her siblings, Paula, David and Mark.

Julie worked for the Saint Paul Mayor Jim Schiebel, the Saint Paul Companies, Target, and the Points of Light Foundation before starting Hennessy & Associates.
