He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Mathiason and Irene Mathiason (Brenna); his wife Karen Ysen; his sons, Chris Mathiason (Kera) and Chad Mathiason (Jessica); his siblings, Diane Yoder, Karen Freeman, Rita Hadley (Rich) and Paul Mathiason (Diane); and his grandchildren, Chayse, Berklee, Skotlyn, Aidan and Corbin. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Ralph Yoder & John Freeman. **In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Walle Lutheran Church or Circle of Friends Animal Shelter in GF.
