He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ell and Marybelle Livingston (Drader); his daughter Cynthia Livingston; his sister Bethel Ekstrom (Ralph); and his siblings-in-law, John Friedig, Frances Loftesnes (Carl) and Pat Smesrud (Geri).
He is survived by: his wife Laurel Livingston; his daughters, Kathy Livingston (Billy Joe), Lorrie Merkel (Paul) and Patricia Tignor (Earl); his grandchildren, Tricia Livingston, Abi Vachal (Austin), Dawn Kavlie (Brock), Andrea Roedocker (Shawn), Shannon Lipio, Danny Shea (Kara), Jenna Grindberg (Cody), Matt Merkel (Nicky), Steven Merkel (Ileah) and Travis Tignor (Carrington); and his sister Joyce Friedig of Center, ND. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, A Private Family Funeral by invitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Hope Congregational United Church of Christ in Granville, ND.
