He was predeceased by : his parents, Reinhold Adam and Loretta Adam (Schnabel); his wife Ella Leona Hettich; his brother Herbert; and his stepfather Carl Job.

He is survived by : his children, Carol Lee (Rick) of Wahpeton, ND, Gary Adam (Kim), Donna Marthe (Robert), Harvey and Douglas Adam (Robin); and his grandchildren, Brian Lee (Amanda), Brenda Leon (Tom), Brandon Lee (Kaitlyn), LaTina Rondestvedt (Marcus), LaRissa Burner (Tim), Samantha Formaneck (Casey), McKenna, Lakyn Adam, Jessica Monge (Travis), Kelly Marthe (Niki), Carson Adam, Robert Joseph Adam and Johnny Adam. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
