He was predeceased by : his siblings, Gilman, Ernest, Edwin, Earl, Thorval Jr., Dennis, Ruth, Esther, Lillia, Hannah and Rosemary; and his granddaughter Karisti Kalina.
He is survived by : his children, Sharlene Kalina of Mesa, AZ, Marlow Stavens (Connie) of Valley City, ND, Lorna Brager (David) of West Fargo, ND and Mark Stavens (Linda Rolle); his grandchildren, Brett Kalina (Ben), Jim Kalina (Janene), Micah Brager, Shayn Stavens, Kelly Kalina (Emily), Traci Brager, Michelle Dias (Steve), Erick Brager (Joslin) and Aaron Stavens; his sisters, Emma Riley and Elsie Hovland (Parnel) of Oregon; and his sister-in-law Susan Myron (Jim). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
