He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Gilchrist and Margaret Gilchrist (Cartwright); his wife Lorraine Dockter; his son-in-law Fred Westerlind; and his siblings, Jimmie, John Gilchrist and Kay Asplund.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Gilchrist (Jan), Jackie Gilchrist and Sandy Westerlind (Daryl Delzer); his grandchildren, Ryan Gilchrist (Erin), Missy Gilchrist, Shanna Jury (Josh) and Nicki Maddock (JP); and his brothers, Brian Gilchrist (Karen) and Bruce Gilchrist (Brenda).
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church of Mandan.
