He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joersz and Florence Joersz (Keller); his wife Lucille Gross; his grandchildren, Emily and Joshua; his sister-in-law Donna; and his sibling's children, Cheryl Lunde and Tim Joersz.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Rinck (John) of Sandpoint, ID, Bruce (Cheri Johnson) of Bismarck, Ken (Monica) of Bismarck, Nancy Christensen (Tom) of Bismarck and Mary Polzin (Tim) of Bismarck; and his siblings, Robert, Wally (Eileen), Mandan, Janet Lunde (Dave) of Bellingham, WA and Karen Nolan (Dick).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
