He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Weigel and Mary Weigel (Ell); and his siblings, Eva, Frank, Leonard, Art and Don.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Qualley; his children, Donna Curtis and Ron Weigel (Diane) of New Braunfels, TX; his grandchildren, Karlene Chruszch (Richard) of Belfield, ND, Kim Hudson, Jeff Weigel (LeAnn) and Joylyn Andermann (Brian) of El Paso, TX; his sister Joyce Keith; and his siblings-in-law, Irene Lynne and Lyle Qualley (Jeanne) of Tekamah, NE. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Celebrating the life of Vernon: Due to the cornonavirus pandemic, A graveside service will be held at a later date at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot.
