He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Telford Pederson and Bertha Pederson (Larson); his wife Erna Walter; his children, Sandra Brown (Gary) of Bonifay, FL, Bob Pederson (Rhonda), Kevin Pederson (Julie) and Steve Pederson (Jodi); his grandchildren, David Brown, Shekae Hanson (Eric), Matthew Pederson (Kaydee), Jessica Rapsavage (Andy), Spencer Pederson, Rhett Pederson, Reece Pederson, Ryker Pederson, Jessie Brown (Misty) and Amanda Thomas (John); his great grandchildren, Haley Howarth, Abigail Brown, Hunter, Kailey Rapsavage, Nolan Brown, Timothy Thomas, Mason and Justice Brown; his grandson Brendan Pederson; and his siblings, Bernice Christianson, Thelma Sloan, Kenneth, Alvin, Louis and Olaf Pederson. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or to Metigoshe Ministries.
