He was predeceased by: his parents, William Maercklein and Fayette Maercklein (Collins); his wife Donna Gerard; his sister Vivian Juliar; and his son-in-law Michael Galan.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Galan of Tucson, AZ, Tamara Tello of Tucson, AZ, Karen Trench of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Dr. Mark Maercklein (Julie) of Minot. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
