He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Schiele and Elizabeth Schiele (Schatz); his wife Helen Herdt; his son Darrell; and his siblings, Mathew, Peter, Emanuel, Joe, Sebastian "Bud", Margaret, Mary, Tillie and Marcella.
He is survived by: his close friend Violet Michaelanko; his children, Virginia Schiele (Mark Perham) of Minot, ND, Edward Schiele, Bryan Schiele (Janel) and Kenneth Schiele (Lori); and his siblings, Nick Schiele, Helen Wald (James) of Surrey, ND and Alice (Jim). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
