She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyle Golly and Verna Rittgers; her stepfather Dave Hammer; and her grandparents, Lydia and Ted Bechtold.

She is survived by: her children, Douglas Gerard Sr. of Minot and Sarah Fast (Chris) of Minot; her grandchildren, Douglas Gerard II, Steven Tyler Gerard, Kendall Gerard, Levi Gerard, Lincoln Fast, Marija Pobric and Maja Pobric; her siblings, Floyd "Bill" Rittgers of Everett, WA, Robert Rittgers of Las Vegas and Gwen Graham of Fargo; and her half-sister Shirley Golly of Minot. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
