He is survived by : his siblings, Virgil (Cherry Ann), Dwight (Twilla), Trevelyan (Debi), Vivien (Colleen), Adrian and Celine Bartsch (Jim); and his sister-in-law Judy Wiest.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Thompson Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 3:00 PM at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
