He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Steen and Edna Steen (Rasmusson); his wife Barbara Jo (Brodehl); his son Alan Steen; his siblings, Howard, Lenard, Selmer Steen, Cora Schieferstein and Carol Rosenthal; his parents-in-law, Oscar and Ella Brodehl; and his sister-in-law Sharon Tranby.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Monger (Monte); his grandchildren, Wiley Monger, Miranda of Rapid City and Marissa Monger of Rapid City; and his siblings-in-law, Gaye Wolff (Don) and James Tranby of Des Lacs, ND. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
