He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Chesley and Gertrude Chesley (Milbrandt); his son LaRoy Chesley (Nancy) of Oakes; his parents-in-law, George and Amelia Schoeszler (Lesser); his sisters, Ada Mae Billing Allen, Shirley Hanson (Archie), Irene Gustafson (Keith), Esther Blew (James) and Mary Ann Chesley; and his sister-in-law Carol Chesley.

He is survived by : his daughters, Jane Anderson (Randy) of Valley City and Lanette Calkins (Tom) of Fargo; his wife Lorraine (Schoeszler); his daughter-in-law Nancy Chesley; his grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Maly (Jesse), John Chesley, Jake Chesley and Madisen Anderson; his great grandchildren, Henlee and Rigley Maly; his stepgrandchildren, Christopher Brummund, Kelly Brummund and James Brummund; and his siblings, Kenneth Chesley of Coos Bay, OR and Janet Burnet of Eugene, OR. He is also survived by step-grandchildren; one great great step-grandchild.
